Mint Museum Antiques Show Set for Charlotte Oct 8 11
The third Mint Museum Antiques Show and Sale will run October 8 through 11 at the Merchandise Mart 2500 East Independence Boulevard. Hours are 11 am to 10 pm daily and 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday. Highlights include James K Polk Kitchen, Gentleman's Study, and items loaned from Charlotte private collections. A preview party is planned October 7, and a talk by William Pahlmann will be held October 8 at Chantilly School starting 10:30 am.

Parents Forget Offspring in Scotland Mixup
Dumbarton reports Mr. and Mrs. James Dell of Michigan accidentally left one of their four daughters behind after driving toward London in a station wagon. Proprietor Jack Elliott found five year old Chris playing with his dog two hours later. The Dells discovered the missing child at lunch and hurried back to retrieve her.
