Hunt Urges Carter To Avoid Defending Congress
Democratic candidate Jim Hunt tells voters Carter should not defend the Democratic Congress, arguing it erred and spent too much. Hunt, in High Point for the party HQ opening, says Carter must stay out of the status quo trap while asserting his own lead over rival Flaherty and noting debates did not yield a decisive winner. He cites his ethics laws and Medicaid cost-cutting proposals as his record of accomplishment.
