Tex Beneke Orchestra Opens Piedmont Cotillion Season
Tex Beneke formerly of the Glenn Miller orchestra brings his group to High Point for the Piedmont Cotillion season opener at Emerywood Country Club Friday October 13. Beneke remains with Miller’s sound and leads a band known for sax work and vocals with Edyie Gorme, Buddy Yeager, and Gregg Lawrence continuing Miller era personnel. Cotillion officers include Joe Hollingsworth president Collier Ellis Jr vice president William Jarrell treasurer and Bill Williams secretary.

Miss Judith Rebecca White daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert White Sr of Jamestown became the bride of Paul Clayton Seabolt son of Mr and Mrs John Paul Seabolt of Denton in a simple ceremony at the Jamestown Methodist church on Saturday September 11 The Reverend Paxton T Dixon officiated the double ring ceremony with Miss Louise Luquer providing selections of traditional wedding music The bride wore a fine suit with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations The couple held a reception at the home of Mrs W Paul Davis on East Farriss Avenue Attending were the bride’s brother Robert White Jr and his bride who were recently married The groom will return to State College in Raleigh this fall for his senior year

Dinner Party Honors Miss Tomlinson And France
Miss Jane Bentley Tomlinson and P Frank Hanes Jr plan a Springfield area wedding next Saturday at the Springfield Friends meeting house. Quigley, president and state chair, leaves Tuesday with Mrs. Floyd D. Mehan. others including Mrs. J. C. Bastian, Mrs. A. H. Whitley, Mrs. Ralph Miller and Mrs. Ernest R. Anderson will attend portions of the sessions. 4 Holland once had about 8,000 windmills but now has around 1,300.
