Two Million Tourists Traveled Through North Carolina
North Carolina welcomed over two and a half million tourists last year, stayed about two days on average, and spent seven dollars daily, the Carolina Motor Club reports. The club says it added fifty million dollars to state wealth, helped reduce speed traps and mail order arrests, and grew membership from six to over eight thousand under President Chertes S. Wallace. It highlights the road map service backing more than 97 thousand maps and outlines a legislative push for a state police patrol brake and headlight laws and higher highway speeds.
