Mill Set to Rise at Pilot Mountain Hosiery Plant
Amos Hosiery Mills plans a $50,000 one story brick plant near Pilot Mountain to be named Amos and Smith Hosiery Company. R K Stewart and Son win contract. work starts next Monday with 450,000 dollars in costs and about 200 workers eventually. The plant will house knitting and finishing rooms and install twenty one 24 section 45 gauge machines. Plant expected to finish in 90 days and begin operations early next year.
