Prince Konoye says war might have been averted
Tokyo report quotes Prince Konoye, former Japan premier, asserting a personal meeting with President Roosevelt in 1941 could have created a basis for imperial intervention to halt Japan’s war rise. He claims Pearl Harbor was planned in secrecy by Tojo's small group, with many civilians unaware beforehand.
