Governors Split Over Faubus Action In Little Rock Crisis

Governors nationwide divided on Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus and the National Guard plan to restrict federal court ordered school integration. The debate drew responses from New York Governor Harriman, New Jersey’s Meyner, Massachusetts’ Furcolo, and others, amid mixed public and political pressure.
