Driver Of Car Taken By Police
A 39 year old man from Greensboro Rt 6 was arrested for reckless driving hit and run and violation of the prohibition law. Police say he was the driver of the other car in an August 18 crash that injured Mrs. Hilliard and led to whiskey found in the vehicle. He ran from the scene and is to face Municipal court on September 27 with bonds totaling 2000 dollars.

Police say seven and a half gallons were captured last night from two Negroes, bringing the ten day confiscations to 115 gallons. A larger discovery followed Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tooms arrested in Ran Local, driving a 1939 Ford with a strong Offenhauser motor. They face federal charges of possessing 36 gallons of whiskey and pleaded guilty before U. S. Commissioner Kennedy, bound over to December term.
