Magistrate disputes claim of Bath resident over coin
Magistrate W G Brown of Bath challenged Edwin B Wilson's claim to possess the oldest coin found in North Carolina outside a museum. Wilson unearthed a British copper coin dated 1738 with Georgios II Rex and Britannia 1738, believed to be among the oldest private North Carolina coins.

Causey Held On Charge In High Point Jail
C F Causey former city employee spent last night in the High Point jail and was released today on a $200 bond. He was arrested by Deputy Sheriff C L Gray at his father’s Vandalia home near Pleasant Garden on a warrant from Beeson Hardware for selling a mortgaged shotgun bought from the local firm. Causey’s father refused to post bond and he faces a Monday hearing at 2 o’clock.

Miss Treva Hedgecock aged 23 died in Morganton after an 18 month illness. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Etha Hedgecock of Guilford County and two uncles E M Milton of Guilford County and F M Hilton of Davidson County. Body to be prepared at Sechrest Funeral Home. Interment planned at Deep River Friends Church Cemetery.
