Gastonia Plans Huge Shop Center

John Akers of Akers Motor Lines announced a major expansion of the Akers Shopping Center in Gastonia North Carolina. The 13 store center will grow to 40 buildings at about two million dollars with a parking lot expansion to 2000 spaces and five acres to 26 acres. Construction is set to begin in early 1959.

Fire destroys Oakhurst school in Charlotte area
