Statewide Poster Contest Opens in North Carolina
Some 80 North Carolina high schools will compete in a statewide poster contest honoring International Women's Year 1975 proclaimed by Gov. James E. Holshouser Jr. Contestants may depict women since 1776 in roles from mother to professional. First place at district level leads to a Raleigh tour and General Assembly visit with $200 prize and $100 for second. Betty Barber notes the goal to raise youth awareness of women's history.
