Frieda Anstett Demonstrates Reed Rolling At Market Center
Frieda Anstett, a 22 year Hitchcock Chair Co. veteran from Riverton Conn., demonstrates reed rolling for chair seats at the Southern Furniture Market Center this week. She works daily on the third floor and plans kept her optimistic about leaving the firm she joined after short retirement. The Hitchcock Chair Co. dates to the 19th century with hand crafted museum pieces and a 1946 revival in Riverton. A new Bicentennial series features Mount Vernon with a hand stenciled silhouette.
