New Vinyl Finish Draws Big Crowd At Southern Market
The High Point Arts Council Building hosted a major event introducing M 3’s Tartan-Clad vinyl finish. Five manufacturers American of Martinsville, Drexel Furniture Co., Kenlea Crafts Inc., Simmons Company, and Stanley Furniture Co. participated in a rare cooperative unveiling. The design mimics wood, covers all exposed parts, resists scratches and many liquids, and needs no waxing or varnishing. The fall market also showcased Thayer Coggin’s Milo Baughman designs and discussed labor dynamics between North and Southern furniture firms with wage and union contrasts.
