Dallas Ready To Trade Morton Eyes New Team
Dallas AP report says reserve quarterback Craig Morton plans to leave the Cowboys seeking a new team after saying he refuses to sit idle. Morton, backing Roger Staubach, has played mainly for extra points and field goals and signed with the Houston Texans of the World Football League, now Shreveport Steamer. He criticizes practice with Dallas and notes he faces possible suspension for skipping. Rookie Clint Longley remains the only other quarterback on the roster. Linebacker Rodrigo Barnes is placed on injured reserve after a knee surgery recommendation following a clash with Coach Tom Landry.
