Hissing and blast cited before stewardess died
Miss Francoise de Moriere, 29, of Washington and Paris, was aboard an Alleghany Airlines plane when a hatch door opened during descent over Hartford. Cohostess Miss Katherine Lacy, 20, of Brookline, Mass., described a hissing sound and a blast that caused rapid depressurization and the stewardess’s death after the plane fell 1500 feet. Civil Aeronautics Board investigators tied the noise to cabin decompression and planned a full inquiry at Washington.
