Government Chooses New Highway Site Near Goldsboro
Raleigh report says the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads selected a new route for N C 111, 2 to 3 miles east of its current junction with U S 70 near Goldsboro to allow Seymour Johnson Air Base runway expansion. The project, costing about 250000, would be federally funded, with Wayne County officials criticizing the plan. Ben R Lewis of Goldsboro Chamber argues the change favors Kinston shoppers.
