Hosiery Trends In Japan Highlight Run-Proof Nylon Stockings
In Japan hosiery makers rely mostly on nylon with little silk and have produced run proof stockings for months. Prices in Japan for seamless nylons run about 1.10 dollars and run proof goods about 1.20 dollars, selling domestically rather than for export due to strong demand. Shigetoshi Sato, a Japanese producer visiting the state, notes wide adoption of nylon despite a still vibrant silk industry and a shift from full-fashioned to seamless hosiery among Japanese women.
