William L. Hutcheson 79 longtime general president of the AFL Carpenters Union died in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis of a heart ailment after entering for a stomach examination Oct 12 and suffering a heart attack Oct 15. A Republican delegate at the Chicago 1952 convention he opposed Taft. He led the union for 36 years and became general president emeritus after retirement.
