Farmer Grows Record Seven and Half Pound Sweet Potato
J Motsinger, a High Point area farmer on the Winston-Salem road, claims a seven and a half pound Porto Rican sweet potato, possibly the largest in the region. He planted an acre last spring and harvested 148 bushels this fall. the potatoes reportedly weigh three to four pounds each. The tuber is exhibited in The Enterprise office window.
