Washington on October 20 authorized the purchase of aircraft for two aero corps squadrons at eighty dollars per machine, to be delivered in San Antonio Texas. Each squadron will have twelve machines, increasing the flying strength while 1300 men were called for enlistment.

London October 20 The American Telegraph dispatch cites Bremen reports that the German Ocean Navigation company has received no news from the submarine Bremen and regards her as lost. Families of the crew in Bremen fear for their fate and expect difficulties in another trans Atlantic voyage. The Deutschland sailing on a further voyage has been canceled.

Fire at Wesley Memorial church was halted around 2 o clock when Robert Sheloff of the Sheloff Hardware company arrived and found the building filled with smoke.
