Army holds back MacDonald court-martial decision at Ft Bragg

The Army has forwarded Col Warren Rock's recommendations on Capt Jeffrey MacDonald to Maj Gen E M Flanagan with final approval by Lt Gen Tolson still pending. The hearing at Ft Bragg remains closed and public release of the recommendations is deferred. MacDonald insists intruders killed his wife and two daughters in their on base apartment.

Methodist Leaders Meet Set in Atlanta for Jurisdictional Council

Leaders and clergymen representing 3.5 million Methodists in nine states will meet in Atlanta Tuesday for the Southeast Jurisdictional Council. The gathering will elect a new chief executive to replace Dr. D Trigg James who retires, with Dr James W Sells, retired last June, serving as consultant. Four ministers were nominated for the post.
