State Fair Arena Dedication Set for Opening Day
Raleigh announces the dedication of the new State Fair Arena at noon on Tuesday the opening day of the 1953 North Carolina State Fair. Governor Umstead will give the dedicatory address, with remarks by U.S. Senator Clyde Hoey and former governors Cherry and Scott among others. The American Institute of Architects will present its 1953 top award for architecture to the fair division and associated designers.

A new East Side Airlines Terminal on First Ave between 37th and 38th Streets will cut coach running times to LaGuardia and New York International airports after Nov 20.
