Senator McCarthy plans to visit the Lewisburg federal penitentiary in Pennsylvania to question atom spy David Greenglass about radar defense data. He has arranged the interview through the Justice Department and will depart for Lewisburg at an unspecified time.
The lime filled grave of Bobby Greenlease in St Joseph Missouri was reopened under Buchanan County prosecutor John Downs. Police dug three feet deeper but found no trace of Thomas Marsh the ex convict once named as the killer. Hall and Heady have confessed to the kidnapping and burial.
The North Carolina Textile Manufacturers Association adopted a report denouncing a two price system for cotton. The plan would cut 50,000 U.S. textile jobs and reduce domestic cotton consumption while risking exports and higher costs. President H. K. Hallett warned of persistent high costs and urged management to cut operating costs to sustain profits.
B E N Brower of Hope Mills will become president of the North Carolina Textile Manufacturers Assn at the 47th annual meeting in Pinehurst. He succeeds H K Hallett as executives announced after an executive session. Brower also heads Brower Mills and Rockfish Mebane Yarn Mills. New officers include Marion W. Heiss and W H Suttenfield. Six directors were named for 3 year terms. Harold Mercer was appointed to fill an unexpired term.
Willard G. Cole, editor of the Whiteville News Reporter, said he does not plan to leave his post. He said he is honored by consideration for an administrative assistantship to Senator Alton B. Lennon but sees no likelihood of such a move in the foreseeable future.
Charles G Baskerville a Charlotte native aged 44 was named manager of Raleigh stations WNAO and WNAO TV succeeding Charles W Stone who returns to business interests in Erie Pennsylvania Baskerville previously with KRIC AM FM in Beaumont Texas
United Nations diplomats report Russia warned the Big Three that any Trieste settlement must have Soviet participation. Andrei Vishinsky stressed no unilateral action and noted Yugoslav President Tito’s proposal for a four-nation conference. The issue remained central as the London talks loomed.
President Eisenhower says a new farm program retaining price supports is nearly ready for Congress next year. He spoke at the Future Farmers of America silver anniversary and outlined partnership between federal and state governments to handle drought emergencies. He noted hearings and debate will follow after the proposal is presented.

North Korean prisoners in the Korean neutral zone resisted Red explanations, triggering cancellation of a second day of talks. Indian forces and NNRC officials debated how to proceed as massed prisoners challenged attempts to coax them home. Chinese POWs were later slated for interviews while North Koreans fortified their stockades.
Britain issued a sharp protest to Israel accusing it of a calculated attack on three Jordan villages. Fifty six Arabs were reported killed and fifteen wounded. U N sponsored observers accused Israel of aggression. Britain cites close ties with Jordan and notes no official Israeli comment.
