Missing 16 year old troupe members trigger police probe
Two 16 year old showgirls Vivian Bart and Hope Parker from the Orpheum troupe have vanished after being offered a horseback ride. They were last seen after leaving a theater in the afternoon with a man named Bob Penny and a supervising worker then driven by a negro known as Dusty to a South Main street boarding house. Police and troupe members searched Penny's home and the Askew boarding house as officers pursue leads. The manager, Jim Eviston, says the girls would not have left knowingly and suspects they are being held locally.
