London reports a peaceful near east settlement after the Turkish surrender of eastern Thrace. Allies secure Sultan withdrawal from Thrace within 15 days and a further month for full transfer. Dardanelles neutralized by a mixed military commission. Thrace remains unoccupied until a peace treaty is signed.
MUDAINIA Oct 11 The armistice convention signed by Turkish nationalist and allied generals mirrors terms submitted by Lieut Gen Harington. Ismid Pasha pressed for more gendarmes in eastern Thrace but conceded on all points. Gen Harington and Gen Charpy left for Constantinople after brief rest aboard their warships.
London reports former Prime Minister Venizelos will act as chief plenipotentiary for Greece at a peace conference with Greece Turkey and the allied powers. The conference location and date are not yet set.
New York October 11 The cotton market opened with a 12 to 19 point gain from Liverpool cables and a firmer outlook abroad on December contracts. Prices rose to 21.90 on the call but soon eased as profit taking and holiday factors appeared, leaving futures barely steady with December at 21.90, January 21.02, March 21.86, May 21.82, July 21.62.

They lunch in Fayetteville and traveled to Bennettsville Darling ton Hartsville and Monroe with Southern Pines ready to guide Thursday. Farm Demonstrator A. K. Robertson leads the party and R. L. Beasley is spokesman.
Wilbur Leggette of Los Angeles claims he was the traveling salesman named by Asa G. Candler in the 1919 Atlanta hotel accusation involving Mrs. Deboucher. He calls the story a fabrication and praises Mrs. Deboucher as a fine woman.
A ten day revival series begins this evening at First Reformed Church led by Rev. Milton Whitener with Rev. H A Fesperman of Greensboro assisting. Rev. Whitener preaches Wednesday and Thursday at 7 30 PM with brief songs before each sermon. Rev J A Palmer of Thomasville and currently in Charlotte leads songs.

Members of High Point lodge No 1155 are preparing for the North Carolina Elks state convention to be hosted in High Point next summer. The group aims to stage the best state rally yet, showcasing the city as the Leather Capital of the Old North State. The event will precede the national convention in Atlanta, where the Grand Lodge meets, with plans to bring the lodge band and strong NC lodge turnout to Georgia.

Total bids cover 22800 feet of sewerage and 11000 feet of water mains with several firms listed and amounts ranging from 32527.10 to 38750.00.
Concord reports the death of Dr A W Verner age 68 longtime president of Scotia Women’s College a Black institution. He died at home from heart trouble around 8 30 p m and is survived by his widow and a sister. The body was sent to Pittsburgh for interment.
