A gray haired suspect named Mickey described as two ounces and 1.5 inches tall was implicated as a mouse found dead in the station. An autopsy was planned to see if the plants affected him.

The Veterans Administration loses about 80 million dollars yearly as private health insurers refuse to pay for care of VA patients where no charges are billed. Congress has discussed a fix but action remains unlikely. VA administrator Donald E. Johnson says hearings could occur.
An ex-convict described as a left wing extremist pulled a gun on a passenger agent and hijacked Eastern Flight 953 from Detroit to Miami and San Juan with 39 of 98 scheduled passengers aboard. The Boeing 727 returned to Miami at 5 42 p m. EDT.
Former sky marshal Hugh M. Vandervoort, 27, says marshals are easily spotted by passengers and sometimes bumped by airlines for paying customers. He describes the program as a real disappointment and questions its deterrent effect while noting visible identification and stewardess deference. Gen. Benjamin O. Davis credits marshals with preventing hijackings and a 70 percent drop in attempts in 1971.
Boston AP Danny Ellyson a 7 year old boy at Children’s Medical Center will fly home to Richmond Virginia by Coast Guard plane. Doctors said he could go Saturday but only by air ambulance after spine surgery. His mother Caroline, a clerk typist, could not afford the 1384 dollar fee. U S Rep David E Saterfield arranged the flight with the Coast Guard.
