L B King of Mecklenburg county who killed King Little a Canadian in Berry Hill township June 17 abandoned his appeal to the supreme court and came to Raleigh to surrender to state prison authorities where he has been sentenced to five years. He was indicted for first degree murder and convicted of second degree murder. He entered an appeal bond but later chose to serve his sentence. He had not reported to the prison by 2 PM but was expected to surrender later.
