King Alexander Assassination in France on Good Will Tour

King Alexander of Yugoslavia and French Foreign Minister Louis Barthou were fatally wounded in Marseille on a goodwill visit to improve Franco Yugoslav ties. Alexander died from chest wounds. Barthou died during surgery. Police killed one attacker. another, Petris Kaleman, was wounded with a sabre as he tried to flee.
