Thomasville Moves to Upgrade Street Lighting System
Thomasville officials approved nine new street lights on two main cross streets and larger bulbs citywide to brighten the streets from High Point road to Lexington. The plan, based on Duke Power engineers, will cost about 80 yearly with half due this year, and timing depends on supply. A bid for street paving was rejected as overpriced and bids will be read again. Local cemetery road work and sewer line connections were discussed along with a bond issue tally and education board appointments.
