Mrs. Robert McCall of High Point was elected vice president for 1956 at the District 7 meeting of the North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs held Saturday in the First Methodist Church of Madison. Mrs. Alexander M. Cox of Madison will serve as president. The meeting's theme was Your Self Discipline Understanding and Faith Will Light the World.

The High Point Garden Council will convene Tuesday at 10 in the Public Library Audio-Visual Room. Each club will send its usual representatives, with rules allowing one member who belongs to two clubs to represent only one council seat. Mrs. P H Gordy of Route 5 High Point is recovering after major surgery at High Point Memorial Hospital with visitors possible. Mrs C B Mitchell of 412 Park Street remains in Duke Hospital for three weeks and is improving toward returning home this week. Mrs H O Bost of 317 West Russell Street is home with visitors after an asthma attack three weeks ago. Mr and Mrs S E Duke and Cynthia from Wichita Falls Texas visit relatives at 315 Steele Street. W E Gray of Frederick Maryland a former resident is at Washington County Hospital Hagerstown to undergo surgery and is a senior air conditioning engineer at Camp Detrick Chemical Corp. Major and Mrs Hal O Davis of Fort Sill Oklahoma visited High Point friends over the weekend. Davis formerly worked for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co.
