Judge Recommends Firing After New Haven Teacher Jail
In New Haven 90 teachers including 12 union negotiators were jailed for contempt during an illegal strike. Judge Laden urged firing the rank and file as 78 housed in a military barracks and 7 in Bridgeport prison. Fines totaling 224,500 go to the Board of Education. Frank Carrano and Catherine Tuttle described jail as degrading and said the law hurts students.
