President Roosevelt calls for rapid action to balance the budget by canceling a 214 million dollar 1979 highway apportionment, spreading a 200 million option balance over two years, imposing a 125 million annual limit after 1940, and revising federal aid laws to remove retired garment allotments, with continuation noted on page two.
President Roosevelt dressed in grimy fishing gear boards a boat near the Dry Tortugas southwest of Key West for a second day of a fishing cruise aboard the Potomac. He has fair weather and hopes to regain strength after illness as Col. Edwin M. Watson and other guests join the voyage.
Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and French Foreign Minister Delbos announced plans for wide consultations with other powers toward a general settlement of world unrest. Scoutmaster Charles Mc Saher will lead the demonstration with James Hogg and Jesse Wall assisting. Committee members include J. D. Ross I. P. Ingle William Bennett D. B E. Headen Charles Mc Murray and George Connor.
Greyhound Bus Line officials set Wednesday as the deadline for strikers to return to work or be considered resigned. The company offered a contract with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen as the bargaining agent but did not require joining the union. Brotherhood attorney T. J. McGrath said members were not responsible for violence linked to the strike.
D M Griffin spokesman for 23 striking drivers said they would not heed the company ultimatum to return to work before noon tomorrow.
Gettysburg Pa Nov 30 L T Shreve Greyhound dispatcher said three buses traveling over the Pennsylvania mountains were fired upon before dawn two of the buses were struck by bullets no one hurt Greyhound drivers had called a strike last week.
In Lincoln Park, Michigan two men threw rocks at a Greyhound bus during a bus drivers strike. Driver Walter Moore of Cincinnati said a passenger was cut on the face by broken glass but not seriously hurt. The bus continued to Cincinnati.
In Waynesville, Harley Robinson received a three to seven year prison term after a jury found him guilty of manslaughter in the killing of his cousin Ratcliff Robinson. His appeal halted the execution of the sentence pending review. Wendell Reid, sentenced to 18 months to five years, also appealed.
Senate Majority Leader Barkley said action on new farm legislation the anti lynching bill government reorganization and housing measures should finish before the special session ends around December 22. He noted tax revisions and the House treasury work as part of the plan and mentioned potential night sessions.

An allied report claims an airbombed Catholic orphanage at Kashing killed 86 children, with 150 refugees and five nuns missing.
Attorneys for Clinton B. Clevenger administrator of Helen Clevenger's estate withdraw a $56,000 damage suit against the Battery Park hotel. A compromise is said to give Clevenger $6,000. Marin Moore, the hall boy, was executed in Raleigh after his murder conviction.
