Reuters Athens dispatch quotes circles near the Greek court saying Greece will resist any Allied demand for arms and ammunition in the wake of the allied fleet orders. It notes Romanian positions squeezed between Teutonic forces with Berlin reporting the situation.
Entente powers issue ultimatum to Greece demanding immediate surrender of arms and guns. Athens cabinet turmoil noted as Venizelos supporters’ provisional government declares war on Bulgaria. In the east, German forces break Romanian resistance along the lower Danube and push toward Bucharest. Macedonian operations slow due to weather. Fronts on Franco-Belgian line remain quiet.
Baltimore Nov 24 The American Federation of Labor voted against what it called the teaching of militarism in the public schools. Debates preceded the action as a committee resolution was adopted at the federation's annual convention.
The land jay in Duplin county failed to find a true bill against Sam Stocks a farmer for taking part in the Greene county lynching of Joseph Black. Stocks was arrested after a governor’s detective report and held on seven hundred sixty thousand dollar bond awaiting grand jury action in Duplin county.
Atlanta notices a very light southern schedule with only two games listed for the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Chattanooga travels to Washington and Jefferson in a yearly clash while Randolph faces Hampden Sydney at Richmond. Most top teams wrap up practice and plan light work in the five days ahead.

The Merchants' and Miners liner Fewhatan sent an alarm for a fire near New Shoreham Rhode Island. The New Shoreham coast guard crew launched to assist but were relieved after assessing the situation within sight of the harbor breakwater.
A wireless pressage received this forenoon states the Powhatan fire was under control and that no assistance was needed. The message arrived in Newport, R. I., on November 25.
John H. LeFevre of Revere Madison County wrote to the Industrial department of the Commercial club asking if a market exists here for rough furniture stock. The market was quickly located. LeFevre is on mission work in the North Carolina mountains for the Presbyterian board of home missions in the United States.
Danger signs have arrived and will be placed Monday or Tuesday at all curves and dangerous grades on the roads leading into High Point by representatives of the Industrial department of the Commercial chair.
One of the citys largest athletic crowds gathered at the polo grounds for the Annapolis versus West Point football game. President Wilson could not attend but cabinet members and officials from both parties added prestige. Cadet battalions and midshipmen filled seats as Navy fans expected strong naval presence from seven battleships and 400 officers. Secretary Baker and Secretary Daniels were notable attendees in the stands as a high stakes contest between rival academies was anticipated.
Winston-Salem November 25 The North Carolina conference of the Methodist Protestant church spent the afternoon on committee work with no public meeting. Addresses by Rev F C Klein and Rev F T Benson preceded a lengthy budget debate and the conference voted to accept a about 200 percent increase in assessments. The conference then adjourned.
The market opened firm with a fresh buying wave lifting futures 10 to 28 points. January led gains around 84 points from yesterday's low, December closed at 20.85 and May at 21.29, with subsequent irregularities after the morning call and overall steady close.
Chicago November 25 wheat values moved lower amid debates over an embargo in Washington. Opening prices showed declines from yesterday across the board with December quoted around 1.77 to 1.72 and May near 1.85. A broader setback followed as the market extended the weakness.

The Mount Airy Horizontal and Vertical Granite Surfacing Machine Co of Mount Airy filed for charter with 50000 capital stock and 750 paid in to deal in granite and stone cutting machinery.
Fair and warmer weather is forecast for the southeastern states in the first part of the week starting tomorrow. A colder turn is probable by Thursday with rain possible Wednesday or Thursday.
Fayetteville November 25 a jury acquitted J Sprunt Newton on embezzlement charges involving the estate of W and Brady. The forgery charge likely will not be pressed and a second case was merged with the opening of court.
A Southern freight train ran into the engine of the Sparks show train in Salisbury causing several hours delay. The show missed an early arrival in Concord and reached the city just before noon. No injuries were reported, but the locomotive and several freight cars were badly damaged.
Andrew Carnegie is 81 today and will host a birthday gathering at his New York home. He plans to receive friends in the afternoon and enjoy a birthday dinner that evening, in his usual good health.

New York Nov 25 a plea from express companies urges early shipping to ensure adequate service during a busy Christmas season. The notice notes ongoing rail pressure and recommends spreading shipments through December to avoid a last minute rush.
Villa and his bandit forces attacked Chihuahua City at daybreak but were repulsed by the Carranza forces. The dispatches say the repulse was more decisive than previous attempts, driving the bandits from the suburbs and stopping their bid to storm the city.
London reports a raid by six German torpedo destroyers on the English coast Thursday. The statement says the raid was ineffective, the ships fired a dozen rounds, hit a small vessel with minor damage, and caused no injuries to the crew.
The War Office reports the German advance toward Damabe has been arrested today as Russian and allied forces hold the line. No further details were immediately released.
