Army Band At Alaskan Outpost Keeps Morale In Combat Zone
An Alaska outpost Army band led by Warrant Officer Elliott Patuzzo travels daily with troops, performing nightly concerts in rugged terrain. The ensemble mixes classical music, military airs, and swing, featuring trumpet virtuoso Carl De Prospero and a Detroit NBC alumnus Corps Lee Drekish, with soloists like Sgt. Joe Wachowski and Sgt. Romeo Buono. The band operates independently of front-line units and remains in the combat zone, adapting to rain and wind while delivering morale boosting shows.
