Negro given eight months for theft of clothing here
Joe Small, a young negro, was sentenced by Judge M. Hedgecock to eight months on the roads in Guilford county after being convicted of larceny. Clothes taken from High Point College students were found in his home, with testimony placing him in the dormitory to carry lunch to his brother. The trespass charge was dismissed for lack of warning signs. Other fines were handed for violation of the prohibition law, speeding, and related offenses.

W W Cecil 75 died yesterday morning and will be buried in Davidson county Monday. Brief services at 129 Adams Street at 9 30 a m conducted by Rev A M Hamilton and Rev F L Conrad. Then body taken to Jerusalem Church 12 miles south of Thomasville for funeral and interment. Cecil was a Davidson County native who had lived in High Point. Death followed illness over a year.
