Telemetry links speed life saving in Guilford County EMS

Guilford County uses a radio and telephone linked telemetry system to transmit heart rhythms from patients to physicians in hospital units. The program, started six years ago, has expanded statewide and helped save patients on tennis courts and ambulances, with trained MICT technicians on duty in nine ambulances and sponsors at High Point Memorial and Westey Long Hospitals.

Actors' Program Set For Schools

High Point students will gain new perspectives on printed words through an Actors in the Schools program funded by the Junior League of High Point and staffed by five NGSF actors for six months. The program, starting informally, sends actors into classrooms to animate plays and teach students to read plays imaginatively, enhancing comprehension and self understanding.
