Baptists reject compromise on Wake Forest trustees plan

Wilmington AP The Baptist State Convention defeated a compromise to allow 12 out of state residents including four non Baptists to serve on Wake Forest College Board of Trustees. The vote also turned down a plan to seek Council on Christian Education review for a year.

Sections of Ohio Buried Under 10 Inches of Snow

Snowfall blanketed sections of Ohio with up to 10 inches of snow as flurries spread across the cold zone between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Coast. New York State recorded as much as 5 inches on Tuesday while Pennsylvania saw light snow showers and Erie County roads remained slushy with 1 to 3 inches. Bank Bandit Steals 8000 From S C Bank

An unshaven gunman robbed the Slater Marietta branch of the Bank of Travelers Rest after opening today. He escaped with 8007 dollars while two female employees were confined in the vault. FBI special agent L Kissiah noted it was the area’s 16th holdup of the year.
