Epic 3 000 Mile Walk Baffles Historians
Washington reports on the 1568 journey of English sailor David Ingram and companions who, after being ashore near Tampico, walked an estimated 2000 to 3000 miles to the east coast. Historians debate accuracy while noting sightings of megafauna, and the tale links to Hakluyt and early English exploration.
