In Columbia Tennessee on November 11 a mob of about 350 men stormed the county jail and hanged Henry Choate an 18 year old black man who allegedly attacked a white girl. A blood stained pistol was found at a farm house earlier and Choate reportedly confessed to the assault. Reverend J R Parsons was among leaders who urged due process. He was hanged from a second story window of the courthouse.

The Sunday school board reported eight cent a mile for automobile expenses, up two cents from the former six cent rate. Rev. J. M. Culbreth of Nashville Tenn. stated church schools are producing leaders in demand, noting forty five percent of North Carolina preachers are college graduates versus eleven percent for the church overall.
