Train Wreck Blame Shifts to Crew in Newark Ga Accident

Interstate Commerce Commission inspectors assign responsibility for the September 27 wreck near Newark Ga to the crew of train 180 led by Engineman McGee who was killed. They rebuke engineers with colored firemen not sharing orders and say proper block signals or automatic control could have prevented the collision. The report cites Conductor Tomberlin and Baggage Master Wilkins as also responsible. A second note mentions Bibical Seminary studies and Sparger Roberson visiting White Plains.
