Signs Of Break In Apathy Seen
Enterprise staff writer Forrest Cates reports that despite ideal weather turnout for the general election in Guilford County may be low. Forecasters predict fair skies and warmer temperatures while political forecasters fear only about half the 92,000 eligible voters will vote. Democrats hold a 71,000 advantage but history shows faith in turnout is fragile. In Guilford Republicans back three GOP candidates for County Board of Commissioners hoping to maintain control. Democrats Hubert Mauldin Henry Millis Jr. and William Folk Jr. challenge the GOP slate. State senate action centers on Guilford Randolph district with ongoing campaign activity.
