Josephine Riley married Robert Edward Mendenhall on Saturday at Highland Baptist Church in a 3 p.m. ceremony officiated by Rev. C R Ritch. The bride wore a satin gown with calla sleeves and carried a white Bible topped with white carnations. They will reside on Mendenhall Road.

Officers Elected At Meet Of Church Women Group
The United Council of Church Women, representing forty four church groups in High Point, held a Thursday night meeting to elect officers. Mrs M B Anderson greeted attendees and oversaw the ballot. Mrs Harry Hendrick of Wesley Memorial Church was chosen recording secretary, and Mrs A G Powell of St Marys Episcopal Church became treasurer.
