Meat Production Expected To Soar
The agriculture department forecast that meat production for the rest of the year would exceed last year’s peak. With higher prices since the October 14 ceilings were lifted, farmers are expected to market heavily. cattle marketings could stay large through winter and spring. Slaughter will be heavy for cattle calves and hogs, while sheep and lamb slaughter remains lower due to fewer lambs from this year’s reduced crop.
