Raleigh November 2 The North Carolina society D A R adjourned after electing Mrs T B Morrison of Asheville regent for the coming term. Other officers named were Mrs W P Mercer Elm City vice regent and Miss Kaee Jones Asheville corresponding secretary. Mrs James M Dunlap Asheville was re elected treasurer. The remaining four officers to be chosen next year per custom.

Mexican arms conspiracy arrest in Tucson

Dr G R Servin a naturalized American was arrested in Tucson on November 1 charged with conspiracy to export arms to revolutionaries in Mexico. Warrants were issued for several others. Authorities seized arms and munitions. Servin denied complicity.

Pleads Guilty to Robbing Spencer P. D. Post Office

Berry Farlow, a young white man, pleaded guilty in federal court to blowing and robbing the Spencer post office safe. He was sentenced to 10 years in the federal prison at Atlanta. Farlow had escaped from a Georgia prison where he was serving a sentence for manslaughter.

Record-High City Voter Registration Expected in High Point

The city anticipates the largest election turnout in its history next Tuesday with about Zee registered voters. Tragedy Strikes Archdale Man in Virginia Railway Accident

Malcolm Spoon aged 21 son of Mr and Mrs S H Spoon of Archdale was killed yesterday morning near Kurt Virginia while trying to cut an air hose between two cars on an extra work train on the Southern Railway main line. He was a brakeman on the train and died instantly when the cars pressed him. The body was brought to Danville and High Point for burial preparations. He is survived by his parents a sister Mrs Pan Burns of Greensboro who shared his home. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at North Main Street Methodist Protestant Church at 2 30 p m with Rev A G Dixon and Rev E N Crowder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
