Smith Supporters Win In Precinct Meetings Here
Supporters of Governor Alfred E. Smith gathered at precinct meetings in Greensboro and High Point and won a good majority. Delegates from the township favored Smith in most precincts with some opposition in Greensboro and two precincts reporting against him. Radio appeals by Senator Simmons preceded the meetings as Smith partisans claimed 66 of 84 delegates slated for Greensboro and 119 total for Smith while conceding 49 opposed delegates.
