Governor Opposes Woman Suffrage Addressed by Governor
Governor Locke Craig spoke at a state normal school address delaying applause as women in the audience reacted to his remark that if North Carolina women want suffrage they should have it. He urged the franchise be decided by women and warned against forcing it, saying government would then be well run if they govern. The program followed with prizes and degrees awarded to students in pedagogy and arts.
