Girl Scout Troop 672 Plans Archdale Paper Drive and Sale
Members of Girl Scout Troop 672 in Archdale sponsor a rummage sale at Smith and Shore Service Station on Highway 311 on May 28. Home baked goods and hot dogs will be offered. The group conducts a paper drive and asks residents to save newspapers and deliver them to the station or call 88-24494 for pickup. Proceeds fund a troop trip.

National Letter Carriers Auxiliaries Tour Joint Meeting
A joint meeting of NALC Auxiliaries from High Point Greensboro and Burlington was held at K W Cafe teria Holly Hill Mall Burlington. Mrs Jack Cox of Greens boro presided over a post dinner business session. The group toured the mall viewing period costumes and displays as part of Bicentennial observances with about 25 in attendance.

Delta Jota Sorority Spring Fling Ends Year in Beach Theme
Delta Jota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi hosted its spring fling at the Thomasville Woman's Club with about seventy attendees dancing to the Mavericks. Beach party decor featured seashells and beach towels as local merchants donated prizes. Marie McGuire passes presidency to Emma Money at month end cookout and meeting.

Mrs F C Lester of 1113 Rotary Dr was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Eden Seminary Webster Groves Mo on May 21 She works with lay groups across Virginia to Texas as associate secretary of the Council for Lay Life and Work of the United Church of Christ Her long service includes editing national Lay Leaders Bulletin Laity Resources and involvement with Church Women United The Lesters have three children and travel abroad for mission work ending with a Hawaii assignment for her husband after graduation.
