Love and a High Point porch party remembered
Last night Elizabeth Harris hosted the senior class at a Broad Street porch party. Gypsy fortune tellers, wiggle drawings, contests, and a cat and a woolly dog prize marked a festive High Point evening. Camp Fire girls plan ten days of camping and a play, Rebecca's Triumph, are announced for next week.

Protecting American Producers Amid Trade and Legal Wrongs
President Wilson told Senator Shepherd and R D Bowen the United States will continue to protect American producers including cotton exports and trade freedom with Britain and other belligerents. Bowen cited a $500000 loss by US farmers in 1914. In unrelated matters Coy Welborn forfeited a $10 bond on a larceny charge and Eugene Lanier’s false pretense case was withdrawn with costs paid after the prosecutor and defendant reached terms.
