Citywide revival to begin Sunday in High Point

A citywide revival campaign set to start Sunday night in High Point will run three weeks. Evangelist William Black and singer will visit June 4, joining pastors from all churches in a united effort with daily services and a large tent on South Main street.

Republicans Denounce Naval Appropriation Bill

Republican members of the house naval affairs committee released a minority report denouncing the 241 million dollar naval appropriation bill as inadequate. They urged a liberal allowance to make the U S navy second in the world and demanded two dreadnoughts six battle cruisers and fifty submarines instead of the majority’s five cruisers and twenty submarines.

Changes in train schedules take effect Sunday

The North Carolina state corporation commission announced that new schedules for Atlantic Coast Line trains Nos. 90 and 91 and Southern Railway trains Nos. 108 and 131 will start next Sunday. ACL service from Norfolk to Goldsboro will run through to Wilmington. Southern trains from Greensboro to Raleigh will be extended through to Goldsboro.

One hundred Minnesota university coeds agreed to hike to the Lake Geneva Wisconsin National YWCA conference August 22 to September 1. They will leave August 15 and travel by foot after riding to within 100 miles of Geneva since schools will be out.
