The Associated Press reports gunfire at Lincoln University in Jefferson City Missouri where three dorms were struck and a library damaged as about 2,300 students faced a police response. In Berkeley California a man, James Rector five of San Jose, died from a gunshot wound during riot police dispersed a 1 500 strong demonstration at People’s Park. National Guardsmen and Highway Patrolmen patrolled Lincoln while a fatality marked the wave of campus unrest.
